Known as "The Watchmaker of Watchmakers," Jaeger-LeCoultre has earned its legendary reputation through centuries of innovation. The manufacture has developed more than 1,400 calibres, registered hundreds of patents, and supplied movements to some of the most prestigious names in haute horlogerie.
Presented here is something rather different—and wonderfully charming: a rare Jaeger-LeCoultre desk clock cleverly disguised as a pair of books.
When closed, it appears to be two leather-bound volumes resting on a bookshelf, featuring the title Les Trois Mousquetaires by Alexandre Dumas. Open it up, however, and it reveals an elegant brass desk clock with a crisp white dial, Roman numerals, slender brass hands, and the inscription "Made in France."
Dating to the late 1960s, the clock is powered by a quartz movement that has been fully checked by our watchmaker and fitted with a fresh battery. It measures approximately 11×7 cm when closed and opens to around 11×13 cm.
A super rare and delightful conversation piece that looks just as good on a bookshelf as it does on a desk.
Not every Jaeger-LeCoultre belongs on the wrist !
